Interesting attempt...don't try anything silly just fly it safely and see what is does. Did you also fly stunts in the IRON MAN movie...I liked it a lot.

it is predicted to go much faster than 525 the record for prop planes is 545 @45000 ft. by the russians -tu-95 set in 1962 we fully intend to take that record back to america period....

I am looking forward to maybe doing some engine runs during PRS week!!

                Stay tuned!!

Looking forward to seeing the aircraft at Reno this year. Thanks in advance for having it there.

Sounds like a great program, best of luck.

                  Cheers,

I was more referring to rounding the pylons at 525 @ ~5000 ft MSL. Best of luck to you in your record attempts!

Have there been any real discussions between turo-prop owners regarding a new class? I have to believe there are at least a couple dozen willing and able to form a sport turbine class. The bigger question may be getting NCAR to make room for another class in the schedule...

last yr. strega did 505 i believe. look at his thrust vs. drag and power to weight------i would say with absolute conviction that our numbers are considerably better

Good one...it would be awesome if piston plane overdid a fast soviet bomber which uses all the transsonic tech they had available back then.

P-51H was faster than a RB-47 Stratojet in tree-top level..according to data in wikipedia.

Its straight wing and non-afterburning, right? They have no reason not to let it run.
I always thought it would be cool to see a PT-6 powered class. Make a standard engine, everyone uses the same engine (kinda like F1), and see the designs that get used or designed around the powerplant.

There are tons of reason to not let it run with the jets. For one thing, props and jet wash never mix well, then there is the weight issues. If they instituted a minimum weight in the unlimited class, then the same should apply to the jet class. As much fun as it might be to watch, it would be a very, very bad idea. Now an all turbo prop class might be pretty cool, and if the numbers in some classes continue to prop like a rock, then RARA might be open to a new class.

True. I was just coming from the "rules" of the jet class: Straight wing, and non-afterburning. I think the semi-elliptical wing of the NXT and the turboprop powerplant fit both of those.
Then in true Nemesis fashion you fly a high and wide line, and never worry about any jet wash
Like you said, if entry is down why not let it run? Its likely they wouldn't implement a weight restriction until the jet drivers complained about the advantage the NXT has.

just my .02? Granted theres a lot more that could be covered here, and when/if the time comes, it will be addressed.
