  • New biplane racer at PRS

I sold my biplane DragRacer #25 to a former professional motocross racer from the UK, Karl Grove. He's completely eaten-up with air racing and is making his first appearance at PRS this year. He's a great guy and I hope you guys can get a few shots of him that he can post on his new web site dragracer25.com.

Thanks for the many great photos of #25 over the years.

And yes Dial Tapper, They do race biplanes at Reno.

Good luck on "Drag Racer". About Biplanes,I remember the year they raced Staggerwing Beeches which are classic planes to this day.

Really? Are they timed with a sundial or an hourglass?

Not when Aberly is going around, might need an atomic clock.

Neither. the judges stand out by the deadline, and as the aircraft crosses the starting line they all together begin to count "one-alligator,...two-alligator,....three-alli..."

They do this in shifts correct?

I was there too for the stagger wing races, if memory serves me correctly, they were required to carry an observer, because of the limited visiblity........does anyone else remember that, or am I imagining things?

While I judge Unlimited and Jets exclusively, I gotta say I love the Bip's, and F-1 as well. Standing at the pylon watching a flock of these guys heading at ya' is a treat. They move around...ALOT! And on more than one occassion I've had my spot picked out to dive for 'cause it looked like I was going to need it!

That said, we have been known to set up a "Stonehenge" prototype to "clock" these guys!

I'll keep a sharp eye out for Race 25.

                    Got get 'em, DragRacer!
