Steve, you'll have to excuse Jim, he's been a liittle sore lately. Seems other people have been getting credit for the work he did.

          Great video. What a sound...

Last time I saw her she was doing loops and rolls over Nut Tree airport.

          Thanks!

No offense aimed at anyone, but what is the purpose of these type of posts? It sounds like a bunch of junior high school girls..."guess what I heard today! But I can't tell you because it is a secret!"
I am sorry, but this is too nice a forum to have rumors flying around that won't be, or can't be, substantiated. I post on another forum and I expect this there as that seems to be the norm there, all these "inside" bits of information that people claim to know but are sworn to secrecy, or promised the person not to tell, or "I know something you don't, so that makes me special" attitude. It is a real shame.
I am only hoping that whoever this is happening to, that they get it worked out by the time the races start. I can wait until the races (what, another two weeks or so) to find out this big secret....it will be obvious then if not before.
            Thus endeth my rant!

Thanks for posting that. I was thinking the same thing. This is a pretty much useless content free thead.

Folks, I am sure some of you have relationships that gives you information a lot of us don't have. Teasing threads like this do not impress the rest of us. If you can't actually provide content save us time and don't post anything.

Spoke with Eric Martin today... He didn't sound like he thought it was a secret He told me they spun a main bearing... BUT... they WILL be here with a different engine later this week.

                  Re: Engine woes?

Okay, well I'll tell you EXACTLY why I posted this. In no way was it an "I know something you don't know" post. It was that I was speaking with someone who's reputation I respect, and they asked me if I had heard about Ridge Runner. I said that I hadn't...but I also didn't want to go on line and aire out someone elses dirty laundry by making a statement when I did not know it to be true.

So if I offended everyone's delicate sensibilities by posting it the way I did, please accept my humble apologies. Teasing? Hardly. I was hoping that by posting it the way I did, someone who DID know what the situation was might be able to clarify.

For whats it worth, I knew exactly what you were trying to do. For some us, this event is a big deal, and something that I look forward too every year. I don't have the luxury to be there all week long so I look to this board as a means of getting up to date with all the information on the racers until I get there Friday afternoon. When there are rumors a weeks before the race about a popular mustang has engine issues I come here to hopefully confirm or deny those rumors. There will be these types of rumors on EVERY type of message board, and it comes with the territory. But that's also a reason that I come here; there are many people that are very well respected within this field and I look forward to their posts.

To everyone thats already out there and to all of the people that have contriubted already, I really do thank you!

                        Re: Engine woes?

Well as can be seen, the posting of this rumor fished out the truth(via Wayne's post) So thanks for the rumors. Maybe we need to put a Rumor stamp in the title of each thread that has rumors so that those who only want the facts posted after the races won't accidentally stumble across a rumor they don't want to see.

Big Jim and Matt58...thank you. Your posts containing info for us to decipher is entertaining and isn't this the point? A spun bearing is big news, "the rumor" has been substantiated and the drama that is racing is ratcheting up! Ladies and Gentleman, you have a show. Hopefully RRIII has the time and the resources to get up to speed. We all want to see her do well.
