Jets?

So last time I was able to be at Reno was the first year of the amazingly fast re-engined L-29s. They dominated the class. So this year I see an L-39 with the pole. So I'm wondering what has changed? Is that a basically stock L-39 or is it fitted with some sort of Mr. Fusion time travel device?

So what happened to the 500 MPH L-29's? Are they nailed to their perch this year?

The fastest L-29 is Viper, which did not clock a lap today. Some fast times were posted by other jets though, so maybe it wont be such an easy victory.

The L-29's are fast cause of the Viper engine. None of the L-39's from my knowledge had that last year.
