Sound recording Reno Air Races?

Hi guys!

Sorry for the extreme lateness of this query but my schedule just cleared and I'd like to attempt making sound recordings at the Reno Air Races this year.

Is there a location that is close enough to the passbys to get a good recording, and also free from announcer PA? Or is that only via a press pass and I've missed the boat yet again?
