Dick Rutan telling his story, in part, of 105 combat missions over Viet Nam and saluting the veterans of this country. What a grand old man. He appears to have the energy to last a long time. Another salute to Mr. Rutan!!

According to the July/August 2010 PILOTMAG magazine, page 118, Dick flew 325 combat missions as a MISTY Super FAC.

The old Doolittle Raiders said they only had 4 each 500 pounders and they had different type bombs. The "Ruptured Duck" had 1 each incendiary and 3 "regular explosives". Doolittle had 4 incendiary bombs as he was lead to mark the spot for the other bombers, the co-pilot said. He's 94 years old and lives in Texas. The tail gunner from the Duck,88, said he attributes his longevity to marrying a nurse. He lives in Montana.

I was able to meet both of these gentlemen today at our seats. I know I shouldn't be this way anymore, but I am always suprised at how kind and gracious the men and women of this generation are! I couldn't have had a nicer conversation with these two heroes.
