I thought Silly Season was supposed to be the weeks leading up to the races, not the week after...

That's because to many of us, the races didn't happen... thus silly season continues. =)

I saw Jan's original comment as saying that we should treasure all the creatures on earth (not that they are more important than us). It's just that sometimes society has a tendency to say they are of no value.

I've flown with Dave, and I can testify that he has never shown any hostility toward birds, (except pigeons, but that's another story).

The Hudson River landing.... Two pilots departing Detroit Metro (DTW) in a Lear when a duck came thru the wind shield and took the right seaters head off. The Lear bounced off a fuel tower about 1/4 miles N/E killing a maint. worker on top moments and both pilots. Three dead and one totaled duck. Mary Dilda's cowel destroyed at Reno a few years back. Kevin's close to near death bird strick. His call is the ultimate of cool. I've been to this party. Dear Jan.... Go hug a tree! Save a bird.
