With everyone’s indulgence, I’d like to take a moment and recognize that this was a particularly tough year for our Pylon Judge family. Earlier this year we said Fair Winds and Blue Skies to Pylon Judge’s Mr. Dave Tyce, Mr. Jim Greathouse, (Outer 6 Pylon Judge and father of James Greathouse, also at Outer 6 and a dear friend), Pylon Captain Mr. Norm Gilbert, and former Chief Pylon Judge Mr. Bill Keenan. During our first briefing on Monday AM we received news of the passing of the Pat Tanaka, wife of Inner 3 Pylon Judge Captain Mr. Toe Tanaka, after a long illness.
Then, early Thursday evening during the preparation for the Pylon Judge party in the Breitling VIP tent, Inner 4 Pylon Captain Mr. Dave Brown suffered a massive heart attack. Despite the very best efforts of the Reno Fire Dept and REMSA, Dave passed away at hospital. Needless to say, our annual gathering for fun and food quickly turned somber.
We all suffer losses in our lives...that's as much a part of living as living itself. It is nonetheless painful however. To the families, friends, and colleagues of the those who precede us in their Eternal Flight West...God's Speed to you all.
