So Kevin, will this be a part of the new set up on Relentless?

Another question, would have an electronic ignition with a rev limiter minimized the situation you had this year by stopping the overspeed before it became catastrophic to the prop?

Any changes for or plans for next year you can share with us?

Thanks for posting this info Kevin, I have been interested in going this way with a race engine since Gary Green told my about Mike Dacey's Venture. I lost a possible 2nd place finish in the 2009 biplane gold for the very reasons mentioned in this article. I momentarily advanced the EI probably only a 1/2 degree too far with the mixture too lean and overheated immediately losing huge power and speed that I could not recover. On a bumpy course in traffic there is only so much time a pilot can devote to fiddling with the EI and mixture. This type of set-up is the solution for pylon racing. Dennis Vest
