Ed Lunkin had a modified P-51 Bendix racer named \"Buttonpuss\" in the \"Shamrock colors\" in 1948 that wore #33. I think he had a P-38 in similar colors the year before that crashed that wore the same number.

I think there was a Sea Fury in the late 70's with that number as well.

Glen McCarthy owned the P-38 that flew the 1947 Bendix and crashed. He hired Paul Mantz for a three ship team the next year and Eddie Lunken was the third ship. They all wore the McCarthy colors of grey and green with shamrocks.

For me its a Tie between Vodoo and Miss America in her early 70s paint scheame not sure who owned it back then any one with the answer to that one please enlighten me it has slipped my mind with the years

Bill, you\'ve been promoted to ST-1 for that. Some of the most derogatory names ever come up with exist for that paint scheme. Somewhat ill-conceived. Looked good on paper, however something got lost in the translation. Very Freudial.
