Yea, that's about as far as I got. The Mach meter goes up to 3.0

Thanks Bill for those links as they are not only about the Bell 1B but also about all the research planes that took us to where we are in aviation today. I knew Marion Carl, Marine aviator, that flew the Douglas Skystreak that set the record for its day.Lockheed Bob
