We are in the final stages of resolving the issues with the forums move to the new location. After talking with tech support, the only solution was to send him a copy of all the images. This will take time - but we know the fix SO it's only a matter of time now.

Thanks again for your patience,

Thanks a ton guys, it’s great to be able to share this stuff with everyone. A big thanks from me goes out to the Voodoo guys with the cockpit cameras (Will, Mike, Dan, Bill) these helped give the feel of riding along and seeing how easy it really is…. If everything works out, this year’s videos will be coming to you in full HD, one of the crew/sponsors of the team has some nice equipment and may bring it out for me to play with.

Is there someplace in the cockpit that you could mount a rearward facing camera that would havea field of view worth watching? I have yet to see this done and I think it would be an intersting perspective.

Have you played with the Go Pro Cams? They have an incredible picture quality and are pretty affordable all things considered. I use one to film my rifle matches, and it looks great.

The cockpit view looking back at will was a Gopro HD model. We had limited ways to mount it and thus ended up with waviness due to vibration. It was as high up as it could go in the cockpit (just below leading edge of canopy). Also, there are some issues with it and light being in a dark area and then looking out into a bright sky. It was placed in the back of the turtledeck and looking at other areas of the cockpit for some flights. The cameras that are CMOS sensors like the Gopro's are great, but do not handle vibration well because they are not a true CCD.

The helmet and side view cameras were POV cameras. The forward facing with telemetry overlay is a professional level ELMO lipstick CCD camera.

One of my goals is to see if we can't put a camera in the top of the vertical fin =)

Of note, all four cockpit cameras are owned by crew members from myself, Kerch, Will and Dan. We enjoy experimenting to get views to give to Jason to edit, while he does the hard work lugging around the shoulder camera and slaving away in the editing software!

When you fly the course in an Unlimited Mustang, do you work the throttle, ie using more throttle on the fast sections and using less throttle on the slower sections or do you set the throttle and put both hands on the control stick and fly the course?

It appears from the video, that you set the throttle and keep both hands on the control stick.
