We are in the final stages of resolving the issues with the forums move to the new location. After talking with tech support, the only solution was to send him a copy of all the images. This will take time - but we know the fix SO it's only a matter of time now.

Methinks here is a bit more to it than that.

I have a feeling the win numbers over the past few years would be the same if Tiger was still driving....

          Re: Leeward Challenges Tiger

So let's just say this really did happen. Someone either keeps, or is handed over $10k. Neither will be going out and buying a Caddy with the money. How much will it cost to prepare each racer? How much will it cost to do the actual race? What will it cost to repair their racer if it breaks? $10 grand seems like a small number when you look at it like that. The National Champion title is really what is important. Tiger rarely took a podium finish when he didn't break. He was the epidimy of "Win it or bin it". He never went to Reno to lose, and he certainly thought 2nd place was the first looser. GG is an unknown, but Jimmy Leeward is not. He has to be one of the most experianced Mustang pilots out there, and I would love to see him win with her. I have no doubts that GG has the potential to be "the fastest Mustang", but right now Strega owns that title. Like everyone here, I would love to see it, and I think PRS would be the best time for it. But in this economy, I don't really think it makes sense for Tiger to do it. Just my 2 pennys! (Not as in John and his daughter. I just mean it's my opinion)

I think Mr. Leeward knows that 10K won't get it done. So he can make a empty little challenge and know he's safe. I don't think Tiger would pull the gear up for 10K. And by the way, Mr. Leeward made this "challenge" public. So the speculation is fair game about the specifics.

This is the sort of statement that, IMHO, should be made to the person's face...

              Just sayin....

I agree. Like a challenge to race for $10K.

I'm curious as to why this is a story worthy of this banter? Jimmy said this AT RENO over six months ago...and Tiger laughed it off then.

My apologies! I did not realize this "challenge" was meant in humor.

No apologies necessary....I don't think it was meant in humor on Jimmy's part. But even though this is 'news' now because it is in print, Jimmy made this same 'challenge' public at Reno last year...and from what I heard, Tiger didn't pay any attention to it then, why would it be such an issue now?

And I'll say that to anybody's face, for whatever that's worth.

10 grand was the amount Glenn McCarthy bet Paul Mantz in 1947. It was also equal to the purse of the Bendix.

And there you go...Mantz whooped McCarthy's entry so bad that he ended up sponsoring BOTH of Mantz's planes the next year.

So maybe that's the angle here...it's a sponsorship proposition.
