Re: Rare Bear speed record video?
Hi all, first post here and I really enjoy the conversations and info on this site. I got the Rare Bear DVD in the mail today and just watched it. I really enjoyed the quality of the video, and the interviews with crews that worked on the plane. I was really was hoping that it would have covered more history of the plane in depth, like the problems of using a R3350 instead of a R2800 or who came up with the idea to use a 3 bladed prop also it would have been neat to see some footage of the speed record run and the time to climb attempt. What they did was a recap of the 2007 season, which I did enjoy and I have a ton of respect for all involved with Rare Bear to make the race that year and every year with all race teams. I now want to buy the book about Lyle Shelton and Rare Bear to find out the rest of the story. Like I said I really enjoyed the video and am glad that someone took the time to make it. This is only my simple opinion.

Re: Rare Bear speed record video?
I was there and don't recall anyone taking video/film of the time to climb record. There may be some still photos someone took.. Folks were focused on getting it done.. Lyle was a great pilot, racer, competitor and all around good guy.. He certainly positively influenced my life..
