Hoping others will keep adding to this effort. Thanks.

Hi Bob, Thanks for the request, the cc guys really don't take that much, paypal has about the lowest I know of for low volume (very low) operators like us..

    BUT... every penny DOES count!

    SO....

    AFP
    PO BOX 1218
    LONG BEACH, WA
    98631

I guess I should add that information to the page that comes up when the donate button is clicked..

You guys really are the best, I'd personally love to run this place with ad revenue, or be rich enough to just do it.. .but neither is the case and we are going to make it with your help!

You guys should Sell Air Race T-shirts as a fund raiser for the site or AAFO shirts.

yes, I would buy an AAFO T-shirt if available, and paypal is my only way to do it and to make some contributions to this forum.

            Thanks for the suggestion.
            Proudly made my donation.
If someone would remember to post a reminder from time to time, it would help me remember to help in the way I can.
In the past I was able to help buy a prop for Steadfast with the help of a suggestion for help from this site.
As long as we keep the suggestions closely scrutinized I'd guess many of us can send a little help from time to time.
But, if the pleas begin to start feeling like candy bar sales at the front door for every soccer team and local school band fundraiser..........

Again, glad to help. I don't have anything to offer for content, so I am a total consumer here.

Sure would like to know of a place where a gear head like me could look deep into a few engines being rebuilt around 70 year old designs...?(reciprocating, large displacement, vee type liquid cooled and radial multi-row air cooled preferred)

Yes, a reminder sometimes would be nice.
Without this site I would go crazy all year. Paypal sent

                  Re: Unofficial AAFO fundraiser idea

I'm always amazed at how many people I speak to at the races that have not yet discovered AAFO. Perhaps a "street team" type concept to raise awareness. Just an idea, if members made some dittos of the site address and a brief description like: 'air race & aviation news and discussion'. Then cut them into business card size.
Whenever I speak to someone at the event and exchange answers as to whats what I always refer them to AAFO. A quick and at the ready 'bookmark' may help them remember and get more new people here and clicking those ad sponsor buttons.

                    Re: Unofficial AAFO fundraiser idea

Just sent in my $20. Thanks for the prod to remind me. Besides all of you charactors, I really enjoy the input from some of the major players in the sport, as well as all of the great pics....and links. I think an annual July 4th fund drive reminder would be a good thing. T-shirts and hats are a good thing for fund raising, as would perhaps a donation of a large pixel count (hi res) picture of ones choice from one of our great photogs that we could make our own poster out of. Thanks Wayne for all you do.

                        Re: Unofficial AAFO fundraiser idea

Special big thanks to everyone who has contributed! We're up to just over $700.... at just under $200. per month for the server, minus a few websites who actually pay a few dollars a month, or when they can... this will keep us going for about 4-5 months.

Hopefully, this thread will not turn into one of those PBS funding drives... but I did get a donation via snail mail suggesting that I put out the cup more often..

When I'm making bux building/hosting/managing one or two high profile websites, (as we have pretty much been covered for several years, right up to about 18 months ago) I never worried about funding the server, so this is hard for me to ask for help.. The response has warmed my heart greatly!

                        Thanks!

I feel ashamed to have been an active contributor to the site and have not donated for over a year. So, I broke out the plastic and chipped in a weeks worth of service.

Thanks for all you do for all of us, Wayne. You're one helluva "Cat Herder!"

                                Hello all,

I figured the most appropriate thing to do as I joined would be to make a donation and thank everyone for helping me get my Reno fix for the past five years here at AAFO. The information, knowledge, pictures, etc. on this site are amazing. Quick confession, the only thing I know about photography is how to enjoy a great picture that someone else took. I am just passionate about Reno and pretty much anything aviation oriented. So a quick thank you in advance for letting me join the community and also letting me enjoy this site for the past five years.
