For some time I have had an idea about an "Unlimited T-6" class.
You must use a T-6 engine, but you can gear it, carb it, turbo charge it, anything you want to do, but you must start with the basic engine. You can change the cowling ad a spinner, what ever you want.
Any prop you want, two blade, three blade or what ever.
You must use a stock wing but you can clip the wings or clean them up as much as you want.
Air frame refinement, racing canopy, anything to refine the surface of the aircraft is fine.
The tail section is open to what ever you wish should control issues become a problem.
Wasn't the goal of T-6 to be kinda an IROC thing where pilot skill was more important than money and mods?
Unlimited T-6 might as well be just Unlimited bronze. Just MHO, and we all know about those.
I'm afraid Unlimited T6 would be one more class with too few entries to fill it AND it would likely take away from the current T6 class. Thus, there would be two classes with too few entries to support either and the likely demise of T6 racing.

Really the idea is that there are more T-6 airframes around and to get another class where innovation and creativity stand a chance.
And for the people that want to push limits of design but they can't afford a Mustang, Seafury or Bearcat.
