Isn't the new timing line supposed to be more accurate? Since it's an actual oval instead of straight pylon to pylon distance?

I don't think accuracy is really what's in question. No doubt it relates a more "accurate" speed, in relation to what the racers true ground speed is. However, what's in question, is that so many records have since been broken, some of which in reality weren't any faster than the previous record.
