Posts made past 02:30PM 12/30/24 won't be on the new site!

We are in the final stages of resolving the issues with the forums move to the new location. After talking with tech support, the only solution was to send him a copy of all the images. This will take time - but we know the fix SO it's only a matter of time now.

Thanks again for your patience,

Some great pics and thanks for sharing, would you happen to have any more pictures of O H-B's Sea Fury?

I ask this in hopes that I haven't missed something.....please don't get upset if this has already been covered, I'm not always as up-to-date as I'd like to be

What is the status of "Miss Merced"? I always liked that one in the books, but was never able to see her fly.

      Thanks!

I like that first one.....looks to be the 1971 Mojave 1000?

Nice pic of John Church's Bearcat and Jerry Brassfield's "Golden Products" Mustang that Bob Love raced too.

I'm not positive, but it certainly could be. My very first air race.

              Pretty much has to be.

Frank Sanders Sea Fury, OH-B's Sea Fury, and Gene Akers' Corsair in the photo. And the ramp is definitely Mojave (you can see the bunkers off to the right of the photo). OH-B' only raced in 1971 at Mojave....so......

UK Chris, I took 10 or 11 shots of Race 0 on the ramp at Reno 71'. As soon as I can replace my dead scanner I will post them.

[QUOTE=sandramore;94046]I didn't realize the bearcat was #24. I have another photo of it taken the year before it crashed at Mojave. That was so hard on Bud's wife.[QUOTE]

I worked with Bud's wife a few years ago. Awesome woman! I had asked this board if anyone had and pictures of Bud's racer and several people came through, along with permission to print them up for her. She appreciated the photo's so much! They brought a tear to her eyes. Just a little more joy that aafo.com has brought into this world!!

With all due respect Big Jim, I have to disagree with you on your assessment of the "twins."
