  • Group of Aircraft by the Home Pylon

Just wondering if anyone knows the make the of the big grey airplane. I'm thinking that it's a Convair? Here is a blurry picture that I took.

I think it is a Soviet design.

That thing has been sitting in the infield for decades. I believe it is an Ilyushian IL-14.

When was the picture taken? That appears to be a white/orange or silver/orange F7F above the Il-14.

              Thanks Airtj,

Guess that Il-14 has been there so long I don't even notice it anymore.

Could this aircraft, photo taken at Stead, be the same IL-14? Photo date unknown, but note that the general admission grandstands are not set-up.

I think there were two or three of them many years ago. Canīt remember well.

I think it would make a great beer stand in the concession area!
