    Re: What's the RGJ's beef?

I agreed with Bucky. I have old issues of the paper from the last century when they really covered the races....when it was sold through out the campgrounds every morning....now newspapers in general seem to have to be bribed to cover anything.....having the newspaper and local media behind an event in any city is very important for the success of that event.....now it seems like they are saying, "You want us to cover your event? How much money you gonna spend on advertising with us?"

Journalism has gone out the window. It's not about reporting facts, it's about propaganda and making money. The people running the RGJ aren't even from Reno. They are appointees of the corporation that owns the rag.

I agree with you Leo. You got it right.

Is it possible for you to state your opinion without the implied profanity and name calling?

              It appears that isn't possible.

Why is it that the people who are reacting the most hotly, are the people who do not live in the area?

Like others, I was a long time subscriber and reader of the RGJ. I saw the decline of, and the eventual death of good journalism that was pertinent to the area where we live all year. Not just heading to town for 10 or so days and then going back to whatever Nirvana they came from.

It saddened me to see the decline, but it happened. Like watching a cancer eat and old friend. Yes, there are good days. The editorial section has POTENTIAL for being sort-of fair, but it is still biased and feeding a liberal agenda. That isn't an insult, or the equivalent of profanity, it's just the truth from many people's opinions.

So, if you feel the need to flame me for posting my opinion, please do so. It will get all the attention it deserves.

Well said TenThirtyTwo.Its bad when one side can view their opinions but don't let the other side voice theirs without getting all bent out of shape. On with the 2012 Reno Air Races.
