It's a pretty obvious scene. Possibly part of a computer rendering showing unknowing viewers the layout of the races or something of that nature. It certainly didn't look like filler for a missing live scene.
Wha...? You don't mean....?

If the first trailer is to be believed, the T6 class races over Pyramid Lake rather than Stead...
I saw the movie this morning, and thought it overall pretty good, with some great in-cockpit and ramp footage.
Some hokey CGI WWII dogfight scenes at the start seemed unnecessary, and a distinctly odd scene part-way through had commentary describing Will pulling out of the 2009 Saturday heat race in Voodoo with smoke in the cockpit, but showed footage of the Tigercat landing with the smoke system on one engine. There was quite a lot of footage of the other acts (the late Greg Poe, Smoke 'n Thunder jet car, Snowbirds, Kent Pietsch) as well as the racers, and quite a bit of filming taken on an otherwise empty ramp (?PRS) looked a little out of place.
Other than that, a great advertisement for air racing, and the NCAR in particular. Hopefully it will get the wide release it deserves and bring more spectators through the gates come September.
