Im hoping my aafo family can help me out. I want to find honor my uncle who flew in the B-24. He wouldn't talk much at all to me about it. I would like to honor him in my aviation themed "mancave" by painting nose art from one or some of the birds he flew in. I was told he was the top gunner and flight engineer. Also heard he was a bombadier. Not sure. Ancestory.com shows he enlisted june 9th 1943. Thanks in advance for yall's help...

Re: Where do I go to search for my uncles squadron..
I did the same thing with an uncle that was shot down over germany(b-24 bombardier). I started out with knowing he was in the 8th airforce. I was finally able to find out he flew with the 448th bg 714th sq out of Seething England. I was also able to find the missing aircrew report from footnote.com I found it easier to use wjat miltary info you have.
B-24.net is a good place to start.
Good Luck and dont get of track, that was my biggest problem!! Prepare to spend a long time with google!
