Re: I give up, is Reno on for '12?

By 6:00 on Sept. 16 we'll ALL know the answer.

Then everyone can argue the WHY...and make excuses.

      Honestly,

We'll be cheering them all on, I don't think it will matter who wins. Just to be at the Reno Air Races will work for me.

The people, the planes and the atmosphere is what its all about. Listening to a Merlin scream by, or the radials loping on the tarmac, the smell of the garlic fries - oh ya baby.

Agreed, I'm a fan of every team and will be happy for whoever wins. I just want to see a gold race completed on SUNDAY and a safe week for all.

                  See you in Sept.

I don't care who wins this year. I just want a safe event with a big crowd. I'll go back to my usual favorites once we know there will be a 2013 event...

Strega's running faster than Bear ever has, so unless Strega has mechanical problems, Bear's gonna have to pull a rabbit out of the hat to beat Steve-o...

You're gonna need about 4000 of them beat Strega....

As we have all seen in the past, 4000 horses can be corraled by a clogged spray bar nozzle, or the failure of a $0.10 washer. Doesn't matter who you are.
It ain't over until all the props stop turning. Sometimes not even then.

Re: I give up, is Reno on for '12?

All that needs to happen for Voodoo or the Bearcat to beat Strega is for someone to beat Stevo to the first turn.
That takes a pole position, or... And BTW no one has ever been line abreast on a start the last three years, always behind. You cannot beat anyone flying behind and outside.

He flies with his dad all of the time and has excellent form habits and knows all of his dad's tricks. And his dad flies the pace plane. Hmmm...

The Bearcat's old engines put out 4200-4400 wet, so when Lewis gets through doodling around and wants to win, they'll be ready in May and the pilot will be in his working years rather than his retirement years.

Stevo is a professional warbird pilot, that flies them every day. He's always going to be pretty comfortable. You have got to make him way uncomfortable on that first pylon, like he did Will that time.

Stevo will dominate in the old fart's club. The Bearcat will out-accelerate any airplane on the field if ready to GO.

Stevo did not win a Sunday gold the last two years. No one won a Saturday Gold Heat last year.

                                Chris...
