Re: Turbo Encabulator 1830 Wright Cyclone Engine Improvements
My old Monte Carlo didn't even have a NON-turbocharged encabulator. The General was lagging on new tech, I guess.
But that's OK. I managed to increase horsepower on-the-cheap anyway, just by installing higher quality muffler bearings and swapping out the stock blinker fluid with some new-fangled synthetic stuff.
Zoom, zoom, zoom!

The general was not lagging.
I present the monte carlo turbo.
Someday, the 1980 monte carlo turbo will be a collector car.......along with the other lesser known (and rare) cars like the buick century turbo coupe, the lesabre turbo sport coupe, riviera T-type turbo and maybe a couple of others.

Mine was a green '81...3.8 V6...no blower. We nearly got the black turbo i had seen in the showroom earlier, but it sold a week before. Always was bummed about that.
Neither version had an encabulator option though. It must have been an aftermarket add-on in those daysLast edited by AirDOGGe; 06-19-2012, 09:40 AM.
