    Yup, it'll be Furias-ly sucking witch's exhaust/prop wash on Sunday afternoon.

      I'm a round engine man...so while I could pick Furias or Czech Mate to be a dark horse, my picks are between Rare Bear and 232 to bring one home for the round engine contigent

            Just funnin' with the "trash-talk"; We're ALL grateful that the races are on. Be it round or inline, we all love the sport. In another thread, someone mentioned "Super Gold".......I concur with the "God I hope not" post as I'd like to see more than 3 planes with 20-25 second intervals between them. Good,close racing is where it's at; witness some of the best racing in the Bronze and Silver heats. This is gonna be so much fun and may the best motor (round or inline) win.

              "May the best motor win"? I'm sure you didn't mean that having the fastest plane is just about the motor but it got me thinking. Like the 3 bladed prop on Rare Bear was fastest in a straight line but a handful in the turns. Clipped wings etc. A retired U2 pilot told me yesterday when talking about GG that they might have had the C of G too close. I read Lyle's book and the CG issue with Rare Bear when doing the restoration. How do you change the CG and how does it show up in flight?

                I am far from a man with 3 brains who can explain flight characteristics but CG is changed by moving things forward/aft in the fuselage. Addition of Nitrous Tanks, removal of armor plating, structural mods etc. Any weight added or removed anywhere on the airframe can change the CG, I do know that planes are supposed to be faster when near the aft CG limit but I cannot recall the reason for it.
