Is the canopy on Habu different than stock? Windshiled angle looks flatter and the slider looks shorter.

Must be a custom screen, it looks like a single piece.

Love seeing the old shots. Thanks for posting.

Yes. That canopy was custom blown for Tony D'Allasandris's Allison-powered racer in 1973. It never raced, but the canopy was run on the original Precious Metal at Reno '75 and Mojave '76. It was sold to Scott Smith who raced Ge Ge II with it in 1979 and '80, and it was part of the sale when Don Davis bought the plane and raced it as Habu...though it only ran that canopy at Reno '83 and Moosejaw '84.

A couple years ago some guy in Tacoma, WA had it for sale on eBay.

Great stuff, Shawn. Thanks for scanning and posting! Not having the history that many of you all do, this stuff means a great deal to me.

            Sincerely appreciate your sharing!

            Cheers All,

You say 'geek' like it's a bad thing.

                    Depends on who is looking...
                    I just know when I've been out-geeked.
