Last year I had my 92 year old dad down from Canada for couple weeks for my daughters wedding. Sister said, make sure you go to Costco and pick up couple cases of Depends for dad. Being a single dad of a teenage daughter I had already faced the humility of the woman products section of the local grocery store, of course did help when the daughter says "oh man it up dad". Over the years I became a pro :-)

So my trip to Costco for first ever purchase of Depends for pops was about the same, 2 cases in the cart covered up by lots of other things, get to the checkers and get in line for old guy checker, would you know it, before it was my turn one of the augmented Costco hotties takes over the register, oh crap lets get done with this I thought, but then my daughters words rattle around my brain "oh dad, man it up". I still had to start some conversation - oh, getting ready for my aging dad's visit :-)

Assuming no Strega and no Voodoo - and Czech Mate clearly isn't going to be ready - I've been wondering about Miss America's chances. That is, I believe Dr. Hisey has the motor to push #11 much faster, but will he? Given the right opportunity, I think he might.

IF Rare Bear is still struggling, the finish (see above) might be more like 232, with 38-8-11 vying for second.

Having said that, I'll be pulling for a strong year for #38.

Well....Mike Loening considered putting a big-a$$ radial (4360) on the nose of Miss Salmon River back in the early '70's. IIRC he even had a motor in the hangar.
