Made with 100% Aromatic Polyamide, (also known as Nomex) which is the fire resistant material used in Mil Spec flight suits, jackets, gloves. If you fly frequently, this is the best material to be wearing if there is a fire.

In regards to the jacket sizing, I just tried it on and it fits me while wearing a t-shirt underneath. It wasn't unusually or uncomfortably small in size. I usually like my clothing slighty loose so I think I would be better off with an XL.

I'm 6'2/200lbs and usually wear a size XL so this jacket is slightly larger in size than most "Large" jackets. Hope this is helpfull.
