    Where's the UPS truck?

    Well, after months and months of "just looking" at the Canon 40D I've finally taken the $200 rebate bait and made my purchase. While I was at it I also got the battery grip, a 580ex II speedlite, a couple CF cards and a couple batteries. The one thing I didn't get that I really wanted was the EF 85mm F/1.8... it's on backorder at both B&H and Adorama. Oh well, I'll be plenty happy with what I have for now until the lens is available. Now where is that UPS truck?

    Hmmm, I didn't see that rebate. I may have to make the jump.
    Sandisk has a good rebate out now on 8 GB Extreme III cards.

      just kidding...

      I've got the 30D and love it...wish I had the sensor cleaner, but I have absolutely no complaints with the camera. My brother bought the 40D about 3 months ago.

      Still saving for the 100-400L myself.

      Will expect to see more of your pictures..

        Jarrod, the Canon rebate thing is an instant rebate on select bodies, lenses and flashes. If you type "Canon Rebate 2008" into google it'll be the first or second thing that pops up.
        Also, SanDisk has rebates for almost all their cards going on right now. I got two 4gb CF cards with $50 coming back to once I fill out the rebate forms. Turns out to be just over $30 a card... can't complain about that.

          It finally made it to the house... Just in time for the 4 B's next week in Yolo. Awesome!

            Nice Stevo!!! I just got virtually the same pile of gear you did. Got to shoot Chino with the new 40D, it sure feels alot better than the XTi and the autofocus is a big improvement.
