Here is my problem. I have many years of B&W negatives. I no longer have a darkroom set up. I am scanning them into my computer without any problem. Now I want to print them. I have tried several printers. Most of them try to get black by combining colors. What you wind up with is purple. My latest Hp printer has a "print greyscale" mode. In addition,it will allow printing with only black ink. This gets pretty good blacks. The problem is, that if you look closely, you can see streaks where the heads didn't cover.
I have tried labs, and what I get is purple blacks.
Now, what I need is a lab that can take an digital image, and print using b&w chemistry and paper.
OR, a printer that will do a better job.
I figured with all of the photographers out there, somebody has tried this.
Thanks for listening.
