Slide Scanners?

I'm looking for some suggestions on best-bang-for-the-buck slide scanners from you photo wizards. I'd like to convert some of my slide collection into digital images so that I'd at least look at them from time to time! Which is to say that image quality is more for online and DVD viewing than maximum size and resolution.

I was using a dedicated slide scanner, but they are very slow to use. I recently bought an Epson v700. Quality is 95 percent of the dedicated slide scanner, but in a faster and more versatile package. I have been very pleased with it.
