    Hey Gang,
Went out to Ramona for their Props & Rods Airshow.
Not to much out there but the A-10 Demo was great.

Okay Victor, your getting a little too good at that prop arc.

Great stuff, Thanks for posting it. As always, I love the close-ups.

      Victor,

You win the prize for best prop circles. I can get the full circle when there taxiing by on the ground, the focal length is relatively short, and the IS is on but how are you getting telephoto shots and blur like that? Your exposure had to be down around 1/30th of a second? You must have your panning technique down cold.

Your not pulling some digital Photoshop magic on us are you?

      Nice shots as usual!

Rick, Bill, Thanks guys I don't know about shooting shots like that any more though, they look great if and I mean IF they work. I pitched more shots than ever this time. I'm not happy with the autofocus at all even at much higher shutter speeds. I have run into quite a few people using both Rebels and 10D's and they say the same. I'm going to quiz the Canon folks and see what they have to say. Checked the pic info and the shots of the Mustang were at 100th of a sec. using IS in mode 2 and the S2 was at 80th of a sec. using IS in mode 2. I tried at 50th but no luck.

The prop circles are unreal. Excellent. Your going to toss quite a few at speeds this slow. Believe me, I tossed a whole bunch of road racers at 1/60 and they are not going very fast compared to an airplane. We 10D owners just have to face the facts, the AF is not made for sports with this camera. But we have to live with it. The options of paying a little over $2K for a used 1D and going back to 4MP, or $4,500 for a 1D mkII to get great AF is not really appealing right now.
