Posts made past 02:30PM 12/30/24 won't be on the new site!
Well, things are going to happen in rapid succession now... I'm going to do a final database backup at 2:30PM CST today. After the vBulletin team gets it - the new site should be operational "with all posts" soon thereafter. Then following a series of checks, and if all goes well, I'll post a link to the new forums here soon.

Re: Fire! Fire! Fire!
I have been a nitro fanatic since the mid-late '60s There is nothing like the shockwave, the fumes and the sound of a blown nitro engine.
If you are down by the starting line when a pair launch, it will actually 'flutter' your vision momentarily from the shockwave. They go over 100mph in the first 60' and the dragsters are going over 275 at 1/8 mile!
You can hear these things idling a half mile away! When they hit the throttle, it's unlike anything you've ever heard!
Taking a first-timer through the pits when they are warming them up is fun. Walking the uninitiated through a thick cloud of nitro fumes is always sure to get a response! It's almost like tear gas or mace!
It's AWESOME! TV does them NO justice.
Great pix!

Re: Fire! Fire! Fire!
Gary,
Could'nt have said that any better myself . If you have never been around Nitro cars you just have no idea. You can't explain it to anyone you just have to go hear, see, and feel them. There's nothing quite like taking someone through the pits and getting them their first Nitro buzz .
