I've been scarce around here lately, but I thought I'd drop in and share a shot taken from a recent air-to-air session down in central Florida, featuring this beautiful 450hp Stearman sporting the speed ring cowl. The aircraft is hangared at an immaculate grass-strip airpark development not far from Kermit Weeks' place. In 2002 this airplane won Custom Runner-Up in the Antiques category at Sun-n-Fun.

Be sure to go the end of the gallery and have a look at the camera plane, a twin-engine Air Cam. Flying the Air Cam is a hoot! So is shooting with the Canon 5D, a huge upgrade from my previous camera, an Oly C8080-WZ. The lens in this case was the 24-105 f4L IS. Next time I'll know better and use the 70-200 f2.8L IS.
