The Collings Foundation fleet visited San Luis Obispo last weekend. The B-24 was down for engine maintenance while I was there, so my only shots are some static shots in awesome stereo (3D) which just don't work here in this deprived two dimensional world of PCs. And if that isn't bad enough, the Mother Ship was not in attendance to reposition the sun, clear the skies...and take better photos.

Re: Collings Foundation
Yo Igno....
I was there on Saturday with my wife and kids. That was their first exposure to my addiction. Other than Kevin Eldridge, I did not know any aafholes were in my area. I live out in the excrementally challenged Los Osos.
I did not take any photos for I pledged my attention to the fam. Thanks for the shots. Are you going to go up to PRS?

Re: Collings Foundation
Hi Bill,
I am a resident of the fake Danish village of Solvang. I used to think Solvang would make an excellent nuclear test range, until they built a casino across the street from me in Santa Ynez. Now I think they would be better served to test nukes in Santa Ynez.
I'd love to go to PRS, but instead I'll be basking among 800 of my best MG owning friends and customers in Gatlinberg, TN. Come September, I'll quit before missing the races.
Cheers,
Robert Goldman
PS. Was that your kids and baby stroller in the middle of all my B-24 photos?

Re: Collings Foundation
Jarrod - Not really. I've got this thing about not wanting people in my pictures. Also there was not much flying. The B-17 landed while I was there and the B-25 took off and landed. No flybys. I think Kevin Eldredge also took off in his Glasair. Had there been more flying it would have been much harder.
Robert - No strollers for my group. We got there around 11 and left around 12:30. When the B-25 started up we were at it's 1 o'clock sitting on the tarmac. It was me with my shaved head, my tall skinny wife, my 4 and 6 year old daughters.
I do not recall seeing anyone with a stereoscopic 3D setup, although I have seen them at Reno.

Re: Collings Foundation
Bill - I got there about 2:00, so we missed each other. If you've seen somebody at Reno with a stereo rig, there's a very good chance it was me.

Re: Collings Foundation
If anyone's in the Boston area this weekend, the Collings Foundation is having their annual Father's Day Open House Saturday and Sunday at 137 Barton Road in Stow, MA. While the big iron won't be there, their smaller aircraft including the Foundation's Fieseler Storch, T-6 Texan, PT-17 Stearman and Yak-3 rebuild project as well as their extensive automobile collection will be. Recommended donation for adult is $10 and $5 for kids.
Stearman rides will be available although they recommend reservations for those.
