Don't know if you ever found what you were looking for but checkout the Reed Kinnert "Racing Planes and Air Races"
Off the top of my head I can't remember which book of his they are in but he has 3 view drawings of Sundancer , Scorceress( the coolest looking bipe ever built in my opinion), the Hot Canary and if memory serves me correct even some stuff on the Hyper-Bipe.
