    The picture of Gen Newhall with the biplane was probably taken in the 1930's. I have no idea what kind of plane but I am sure someone can identify it.
    The midget is a racer that Grandpa built and raced on Wednesday evenings at the Illinois Armory in Chicago
    The picture of him in the jet was taken in the late 1950's before he retired in 1960.

    I think that "jet" might be a P-51.

    My thoughts are if it is/was it probably would have a bangseat in it.
    The pad on the headrest sure looks like the armor plated dealy that was in the Mustangs.
    I could be wrong, and if so please accept my most humble apology in advance.
    The midget race is way too cool.Thanks for including it.
