Friday seemed very light. Down maybe 30% from last year I think. I hope it picks up tomorrow and Sunday!

The boxes were as crowded as I ever remember for a Friday. I'm this article that Golem posted it says they are on track for record attendance. Sure hope it's true.

Mr. Houghton told us Checkered Flag folks he expects it to be down by 7-8% because many folks thought they couldn't pull the race off but that sales at the gate may make up most of that. He says there's no doubt that, thanks to local businesses and many of the vendors that cut them a break as well as valuable help from all the NV politicians, there will be a race next year as long as nothing bad happens this year. They are pulling hard to get the Thunderbirds for the 50th anniversary.
