FlightLine Update 8-24-98 Sparky: Steve and
Brant Segetti are currently working on their Unlimited
Class entry at their home base located at Nut Tree
Airport in central California. Specifically, they are
making modification to their P-51D, "Sparky",
in an effort to gain enough extra speed to qualify for
the Bronze race this year. They missed the qualification
cut-off speed by three places last year. The modification
is to add an ADI tank in one of the gun bays in order to
be able to push a bit more manifold pressure. Brant will
definitely be piloting Sparky at Reno in 98.....Good luck
Guys!
Sprit of Texas: The
Hawker Sea Fury FB-11 of Stewart Dawson, Reno '97 race
entry #105, will make it to her second
showing in the Unlimited Class at Reno. Taking first
place in the Bronze Unlimited Class Race last year was
just what it took for this competitor to get hooked on
air racing. Coming to this year's event with a new R3350
radial under the cowling, she is looking for competing in
the Silver Class...... and also looking forward to see if
she has what it takes to garner top honors in this faster
class of unlimited racers.
