"The Witch"

Normally we try to refrain from vertical format photographs for Picture Of The week, this image by Sue Petersen forced us to change our minds on this long-standing "policy." Reasoning that the format does not make for good desktop wallpaper, we've passed on many great images for this reason.

This week, in reading over the entries for the Photo Caption Contest, there was one there that made the semi-finalist cut that caught our eye; when Sue sent us this picture the next day, it became the obvious choice for the week!

We hope to have much more from this fine photographer in the future, but a recent water leakage incident in her new home has damaged much of her stock of historic photos from Reno and other exciting aviation events. We hope to lend a hand in getting some of her stock back to viewable condition and we would like to take this opportunity to thank Sue for all she has done for the aviation community with her work over the years!
