"Sun n Fun Spitfire"
With the annual Lakeland, Florida, gathering of the Experimental Aircraft Association, Sun n Fun, just around the corner, we present this digital photograph of Supermarine Spitfire Mark IX, serial number, CBAF 7243. Photographed during the daily Warbird Show, this Spitfire, manufactured in 1943, along with several other vintage aircraft types, gave a spectacular showing, complete with pyrotechnic displays that are second to none! Looking at the photograph closely, you can see the glow of the pyrotechnic explosion just set off, reflecting on the underside of the starboard wing.
If you plan on traveling to Florida this year, or any year, make those plans in the month of April and include a stop at the wonderful gathering of aviators at the Lakeland Linder Airport, EAA Sun-n-Fun!
