You're faced with nearly 6000 images of airplanes taken at the EAA's Sun 'n Fun 2002 "Red White & Blue Skies" Fly-In and you have to choose ONE image out of this huge batch to kick-off our recap and extended coverage of the event.
What do you do??
Easy! Pick a shot of the pretty lady in the airplane, of course!
One of the biggest reasons we trekked all the way across the country the week before last, was to catch one of our favorite racers doing something else she does very well. Airshow Flyin' !
Most of you who frequent this website will immediately recognize the smiling face behind those big pilot sunglasses as the fiercely competitive Mary Dilda of the "Two of Hearts Air Race Team." That this lady is a tiger on the racecourse is a well known fact, that she also rips up the sky each year on the air show circuit is far less known.
We're about to change this.
Featured this week as our POTW, this shot of Mary just prior to taking off for one of her daily performances at the EAA Sun 'n Fun event is just a teaser of much more to come. We're nearly done with a gallery presentation compiled from three days of shooting Mary's act and in addition to this week's POTW, we offer the other shots on this page as teasers to the teaser!
