"Goodbye Gee Bee?"

After nearly 10 years on the airshow circuit with numerous appearances at Oshkosh and Reno, the announcement that "this will be the Gee Bee's last appearance at Oshkosh" today by Delmar Benjamin was a shocker.

Neither Delmar or Linda Benjamin would disclose details of their plans for the historic air racing replica Gee Bee R2, or of Delmar's plans for the future, but a "hint" was dropped and this will not be the end of Delmar's appearances on the airshow circuit.

"We could tell you, but then we'd have to kill you" is all we could get from a smiling Benjamin when we asked the question "WHAT" will Delmar be flying in the future...

Delmar has been thrilling fans around the world with the Gee Bee Replica and is currently in the middle of a very active schedule with the airplane for this 2001season. In fact, as of this moment, the airplane is sitting in a hangar at Whittman Field awaiting disassembly for shipping by air for appearances Germany (see schedule at http://www.geebee.com) Delmar will be appearing at the 2001 Reno National Championship Air Races, September 13-16 at the Reno Stead Airport at Reno, Nevada.

What are Delmar's plans for the future? We *can* say that some "hints" were dropped and the next project from this talented builder/performer does indeed sound exciting, but... if we told you what we were *not* told, then "we'd have to kill you" ....
