These aircraft have no starters or electrical system, in the interests of weight saving. Their rules also mandate a fixed pitch propeller. This necessitates some interesting performance compromises. Either one can pick a prop for acceleration and quick takeoff, or one for top rpm and top speed – but you cannot have both.
