This kindly looking Grandfather is perhaps the most intensely competitive Race Pilot ever. He has more Championships, in more different airplanes, over a longer time period, than any other pilot in any class in Air Racing history! He also probably holds the all time record for low flying violations – nobody passes Ray Cote on the inside – ever! (In the interests of editorial honesty, the smile is not really kindly – Birgitta caught Ray just after winning that heat race on Thursday last year. The smile is one of victory and vindication !! )
