The next obvious contender for the IF1 crown in 2000 is "Mariah," flown by Idaho ag-pilot, Gary Hubler. This aircraft was built up in its present form in the late 1980s and first appeared at Reno in 1990. It has been in the Gold every year since 1992, except for 1996, when Gary won the Silver at 239.557 mph. This speed was actually faster than "Nemesis" went in winning the Gold that year. "Mariah" has been third in the Gold a remarkable six times in the last seven years – a string broken only by the aforementioned Silver win in 1996.
