At Reno 1998, Gary qualified second ahead of Ray and finished third in the gold after Ray. In 1999, Ray qualified 9 miles an hour faster than Gary and just barely beat Gary in the Gold. But – keep in mind that Ray was positioned behind Gary in the start formation. The question for Reno 2000 is: Can Gary find the extra five miles an hour or more that it would appear he needs to beat Ray?
