David qualified third in 1999 at a speed of 243.869 mph., and raced in the mid two-thirties all week. He stated that he had a new engine that he had very high hopes for and was using Reno ’99 as a testing period before putting this motor in his new airplane for Reno 2000 and really running it hard.
