Finally, we have as possible contenders a whole flock of "Super Cassutts". These aircraft retain only the basic Cassutt fuselage structure. With their all-composite wings-and-tails and their highly refined cowlings, exhaust systems, canopies, etc., they are far from Tom Cassutt’s original design.

Here we have Dave Morse’s "Cool Runnings". At Reno 1996, Dave qualified this airplane at 243.603 mph and ended up third in the Gold at 230 mph. Obviously this airplane has enormous potential, as it has already shown itself to be a serious contender. Despite Dave’s superlative skills as a race pilot (he is, after all, the Sport Class champion two years running), he has made a number of modifications to the airplane which have not been entirely successful. The airplane has run slower and slower over the last three years.
