Get ready to RUMBLE!

Rick Vandam pulls off the course in the MiG-15 in preparation for a full-on burner run by Jimmy Leeward in the MiG-17.

Though similar in appearance, the two MiG’s differ in several ways. One of the most notable differences, the -15 does not have an afterburner.

This shot is also a good example of a difficult exposure solution. The -15 is pulling up into the bright sun with far greater light on it than the -17, turning towards pylon-1. Also in this case, using your camera’s automatic settings for exposure would make a proper exposure of the subjects nearly impossible. I did use auto exposure and basically got lucky, one of the subjects was lit well enough to expose properly. It worked... this time.
